The Story of Kunta Kinteh originated from the book called "ROOTS" written by the late Afro-American writer called Alex Harley, who claimed his roots from a small village called Juffureh located in the northern part of the river Gambia. Kunta Kinteh was captured as a slave during the Atlantic Slave Trade and transported to the United States of America. The story was later developed as a TV series and circulated around the world.
