What is your position in your company or organisation?
What does your company of organisation do?
The technology is fully Canadian owned and the Waste to Energy power plants are designed constructed and managed by the same.
The technology is already US EPA and Ministry of Canada approved, and in October of 2010 will obtain the ISO 14064 rating.
Can remediate and destroy 307 different toxic materials including PCBs, Agent Orange toxin, low level radioactive medical waste, etc.
Emissions from the process are 99.99999% clean (cleaner than an average car's exhaust).
The entire process is continuously fuelled by MSW or toxic wastes. Each ton of garbage is equivalent to one barrel of oil, which is trading at US$65, if a municipality has 10 Million tons of garbage in its landfill; it is equivalent to $650,000,000.
The cogeneration system uses the Babcock &Wilcox steam boiler system and Solar turbine generators.
Waste to Energy/Power plants can be built on approximately 15-25 acres of land including the space necessary for heavy trucks and equipment. Can be close to existing landfill sites and to the power grid, to minimize further travel and Co2 emissions from trucks travelling back and forth.
Can be up and running in under 24 – 36 months.
Cost of the plant can be recouped in 2 to 3 years. Depending on different revenue streams.
Can be registered under the Kyoto Protocol CDM projects.
Cost of the Plant can vary between $295 Million to $400 Million, depending on the country of deployment.
Method of financing can be, debt, equity, Sukuk bonds, municipal bonds, or under the Kyoto Protocol selling carbon credits. At present time the carbon credits are selling on the carbon exchange at €14.50, each ton of Green House Gases is 21 times more harmful than CO2, so you get 1.5 times the carbon credit, which works out US$30/ton of CER, if registered with UNDA (United Nations Development Agency). In a typical Municipality producing 5000 tons of garbage per day has approximately 5 – 10 Million Tons of MSW in landfills, that can be forward sold on the carbon market. If we take an average of 7 Million tons of garbage and multiply it with $30 CER equals to $210 Million.
From the above scenario, we in essence have an asset of $625 Million that we can take to the bank or any stock exchange and float a bond.
Political mileage, this can be promoted as Pakistan taking a leadership role in abating or minimizing CO2 footprint.
