What does your company of organisation do?
APEG is a newly established Micronesia-based engineering and consulting firm that operates in several Asia and Pacific countries as well as in Germany and Africa. APEG aims to become a provider of energy solutions to global environmental institutions, major energy and commodity corporations, Governments and institutes in Asia and the Pacific and as such associates with other international firms of repute. APEG has wind energy expertise, solar (passive and PV) expertise as well as financial and management services at its office in Pohnpei, Federated States of Micronesia (FSM).
APEG’s key consultant for this project will be Mr Peter Konings.
Peter Konings is a Renewable Energy Specialist at the Asia-Pacific Energy Group (APEG) and is based in Pohnpei, FSM. He has 14 years experience in the energy sector in Europe, Asia and the Pacific region. Three of these years were spent in the Pacific, working on grid-connected PV systems, outer-island electrification, energy efficiency and energy policy development. His expertise covers various aspects of renewable energy and energy efficiency including technical design, technologies and costs, policy development, project management, and development of institutional frameworks.
Peter Konings held the position of Country Manager for the Federated States of Micronesia under the REP-5 Programme “Support to the Energy Sector in 5 Pacific Island States”. The programme was funded by the European Union and executed by the Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat. Peter was responsible for the management of all renewable energy and energy efficiency activities in Kosrae, Pohnpei, Chuuk and Yap, with a total budget in excess of three million Euros (www.rep5.eu).

On the 17th & 18th October 2012 the second Clean Technology business and investment matchmaking conference for the African continent is to be held at the Sandton Convention Centre South Africa.
Called Viridis Africa, the event is dedicated to entrepreneurs and corporates who are seeking funding to introduce clean technology solutions and services.
Principals who would present their business opportunities at this event would have the audience of numerous local and foreign investors, stratified according to their interest and investment criteria.
Investors would include venture capital, private equity, project and corporate finance outfits and others dedicated to the clean tech sector. They would also include North American, European funding agencies, major Asian industrial conglomerates, technology specific investment funds and major companies who seek strategic alliance and acquisitions.
