The Oil sector is finding many investors with it becoming strongest in the past 150 years. The projected returns from the investment have also gone up. The returns from investing in oil and gas can go up to 650% or even greater. This is because of the rising oil prices and its decreasing supply. It is believed that the by the year 2030, the worldwide consumption of oil will reach 115 million barrels per day. This is almost 30 million barrels more than what is consumed daily today.
The oil demand is mainly coming from the developing countries like India and China. Although the world is seeking alternate energy sources, the dominant source of energy still remains the fossil fuels. In 2030, it is predicted that 90% of the total energy supply will be met by the fossil fuels.
Owing to this demand, the investments in oil and gas have risen. The major way of investing in the sector is by investing in drilling oil wells. Oil well drilling is a safe and lucrative option for investment. It is also quick considering how fast it generates returns. It is found that one can start receiving returns within 60 days of an oil well being hit.
Pretty sad state of affairs if that is how short sighted and dare I say it "selfish" investors will be. What happens after 2030 ? Or is it a case of we will make a plan then ?
